As with many charities, budgets can be tight. We were challenged with coming up with a cost effective means of providing an interactive bidding engine for football game positions.
Football Aid
Football Aid is a UK based charity. National Premiere League football clubs provide their facilities to Football Aid for die hard fans to be able to compete in football games on their favourite turf. The game spots are then auctioned via the website with an interactive auction engine.
Game spots can be viewed on an interactive graphical football pitch. This feature is dynamically updated displaying which positions are still available - many postions are sold for thousands of pounds. In addition to a fairly sophisticated bidding engine, the website is entirely content managed via the Drupal open source CMS.
